A Backyard Makeover – The Design Build Way
Fall is here, which may have you panicking if you planned to redo your backyard this summer and suddenly it isn’t summer any more. The process
Our owner and CEO, Chris Kehoe, believes strongly that each job should be tailored to you, the client. Every outdoor project starts with a consultation, and we ask a lot of questions so we learn what you want and need. Do you want a beautiful raised deck for entertaining, or something to connect your house to your pool? Or are you more into patios and pergolas? If you need some help with backyard landscaping ideas or backyard design, we have 15 years of expertise to help you out. After that, we establish your budget. Then, we start designing your project. We can create a digital rendering, even using 3-D imagery, so you can see exactly what the finished product will look like. Once you Ok the final design, we start work at your pace. You want to do the deck in the fall and then wait until spring to do the landscaping, no problem. Now here is the fun part, you can gift this fully designed 3D rendering to your sweetheart. Telling them you have taken care of the details and over the next year your dream backyard will be built!
Once you decide when to start, the Orange County Deck team then manages the project, and handles everything from permitting and purchasing to hiring subcontractors, construction, and cleanup. We have your back before, during and after.
Advantages of design build
There are plenty of advantages of using a design build firm rather than separate designers and builders. In projects with separate designers and builders, there may be conflict or poor communication. There may be a design element that your builder can’t create, or materials they can’t get. In a design-build firm like ours, we’re all on the same team. We also know what materials our builders have access to and what restrictions they may have. Another benefit of using our design-build firm is our comprehensive plan. We’ll help you create your long-term, comprehensive backyard design, and then using that plan, we can help you break the project up into chunks. So if you can’t afford to redo your entire backyard in one year, we can help you break it up into sections per season or year.
